Through incredible attention to detail and a comprehensive approach to research, Avant Residential Group team member, Jimena Lopez, consistently offers her clients “quality, not quantity.” As both a local Austinite and an immigrant from Mexico, Jimena understands first-hand the hassle and stresses that come with buying, selling and relocating to the area. So, to help you get to know Jimena a little better, we sat down with her to find out more about her background, passions and everything she enjoys about Austin.

You’re originally from Mexico. Tell us about moving here and why you chose Austin.

My family moved to Austin when I was 9 years old. Originally, the plan was to stay for only a year or two but that has turned into over 16 years. We love the diversity of the city and all of its outdoor activities.

Why did you get into real estate?

My father is an Architect. As a little girl, I would accompany him to development sites, even helped paint the walls. Since then, I've been by his side through the entire process: buying land, building and selling. I believe this has given me the ability to seek out unique quality homes, find opportunity lots to build on, and understand the numbers needed for investments work.

What do you enjoy the most about being in real estate?

Honestly, I truly enjoy the entire process. I love educating my clients and helping them find a home or investment that won't make them think twice when putting in an offer.

I'm here to help internationals and developers make the most out of their Austin experience and will help guide them through the entire process!

If you weren’t a Realtor®, what career would you have?

I would be a wedding planner! Before I went into real estate, I was Project Manager at a 100+ exhibitor trade show. I loved the thrill and process behind planning an event, and now that I've planned my wedding, I wish that I could plan many, many more!

Tell us about a unique experience you've had while showing homes.

While showing a lot out in East Austin, I stepped in dog poop! It was the first lot so the smell followed us around the entire day… 

What is one thing people would be surprised to find out about you?

I have two Great Danes named Josefina and Antonella. They are my (huge) babies!

What do you enjoy outside of real estate?

I love yoga and walking my Great Danes (or maybe they walk me…?)

Favorite restaurant?

Uchiko Austin! I could eat sushi every day.
